This was a week of extreme cold through most of Western Canada and the US, but the bad weather almost missed us entirely. Thankfully our out-of-town guests experienced only minor delays flying and driving over the Christmas holidays.

Sunday, December 18th, 2022- Walking towards beach one on a snowy Sunday morning. It was slightly above freezing, making the beach slushy to walk on.
Sunday, December 18th, 2022 – Taken at beach drive looking west towards the entrance to the boardwalk. Giant piles of sand are still present after the town began to clear Beach drive. Due to high water over the past few years, the town decided to keep the roadway covered with sand to help avoid flooding.
Monday, December 19th, 2022 – Today, I walked down the beach along Shore Lane rather than braving these deep snow drifts. It’s too hard to walk along the beach when the snow is this deep.
Tuesday, December 20th, 2022 – An evening walk along Beach 6 as the sun sets around 4:30 pm. Waves had cleared a section of beach right along the water, which made it easy to walk along the shoreline.
Wednesday, December 21st, 2022 – A cold and windy Wednesday morning. The winds are from the northwest, piling ice up along the shore. It was good for walking along the beach because strong winds swept the beach clear of excess snow.
Thursday, December 22nd, 2022 – The town has resumed clearing the sand from Beach Drive and are spreading it out near the beach 2 boardwalk.
Friday, December 23rd, 2022 – The outdoor pavilion near the outdoor rink at the Recplex all decorated for Christmas
Friday, December 23, 2022 – An evening walk back from 57th street near Beach 6.
Saturday, December 24th, 2022 – A very cold Sunday morning. The air temperature was around -10C when this was taken, and the strong winds made it feel much colder.
Saturday, December 24th, 2022 – My brother and two nephews popped by on Christmas eve for a visit in their off-road toys. This picture was taken in our front yard at Wasaga Beach.
