I think that this week shows that protecting beach drive from high water is a losing cause. Better to focus on protecting the businesses along the beach.<\/p>\n

Friday, November 22nd, 2019 – The combination of high water and strong winds has make the beach tough to walk across. I made it but got a soaker just east of this spot.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Friday, November 22nd, 2019 – This is the highest I’ve seen the waves reach during my daily walks – this is normally one of the widest sections of the beach west of 13th street and today the waves were reaching all the way to the breakwaters. (During overnight storms, the waves have been higher as evidenced by all the damage long the shore this year)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
