It’s nice to see a more typical winter with overnight lows in the -20\u00b0C range. I find the dead of winter is when I get the most interesting pictures walking down the beach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sunday, January 5th, 2025 – There are many beautiful homes along Shore Lane near beach area 3. This time of year, blowing snow (and sand) are hazards.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Sunday, January 5th, 2025 – Walking down the beach was brutal, mostly because of the wind. The temperature was reasonably mild at -5\u00b0C, but the wind made all the difference. It was an easy surface to walk on, so I made it to beach one and back.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Tuesday, January 7th, 2025 – the sky tells you all you need to know looking east. We’re experiencing steady snow squalls with more snow on the way. We have a foot of snow on the ground at home, but the beach is swept clean due to the strong winds.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Wednesday, January 8th. This is the entrance to Beach Area 5, heading east from Shore Lane. I finished my walk, but today was difficult because, unlike the roads, the trails across the provincial park are not plowed.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Thursday, January 9th, 2025 – The snowbanks are beginning to pile up along Shore Lane. This picture was taken near waterfront properties at Beach Area 3.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Thursday, January 9th, 2025 – The sun was out during my second walk of the day, late afternoon, near Beach Area 5. Despite the wind and blowing snow it was a very pleasant walk.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Friday, January 10th, 2025 – I walked out on the ice to take this picture, and for the first time this winter, I enjoyed walking a few kilometers on the ice. The Bay was frozen for as far as I could see, but I never venture beyond the first set of ice berms in the distance.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Saturday, January 11th, 2025 – It was well below freezing walking down the beach this AM, but for some reason the snowmobile trails were slushy. You get more exercise walking through a few inches of snow and slush than a hard-frozen surface.
