I’m afraid there’s not a lot of variety in my posts this week. The weather was the same every day. It’s tough to make it all the way down the beach this time of year. In places there is an inch or two of snow, but in other places because of drifts you can find yourself walking through a foot or more. Good exercise for sure!

Sunday, February 4th, 2018 – Just west of 13th street at beach two on my way to the boardwalk in the morning.
Sunday, February 4th, 2018 – At the boardwalk looking east toward beach one. I’m the only one walking down the beach today. Shame to wreck this picture of virgin snow with footprints!
Sunday, February 4th, 2018 – Looking out towards Georgian Bay.
Sunday, February 4th, 2018 – I got out twice today. In the afternoon, Jamie and I decided to snowshoe through the trails near the Oxbow. My son Jamie in the foreground with Jen and Don and Darby (waving) in the background. We though it was funny to see a stop sign in the middle of nowhere. We saw a few snowmobiles but nobody else. We had the trails all to ourselves.
Sunday, February 4th, 2018 – Jamie is a good sport snowshoeing with his family (Michelle was under the weather). The Nottawasaga river is behind him. Note the open water despite temperatures well below freezing today. The river is simply never safe in the winter. Stay away from the river and the river mouth at Georgian Bay. People drown sadly there every year even when the water is warm. This time of year you don’t have a chance.
Monday, February 5th, 2018 – I’m grateful for the strong winds exposing frozen sand and making the beach easier to walk on! I met one fellow beach walker  out on the ice.
Tuesday, February 6th, 2018 – this pictures looking out across the bay during a pause in the snow. Today I walked mostly on the ice because it was easier than the shore because of the snow drifts.
Tuesday, February 6th, 2018 – at Shore Lane looking west through falling snow.
Wednesday, February 7th, 2018 – If it was snowing any more, I may as well just post a big white square! Snow squall coming in from the west – taken just before the squall reached my position.
Wednesday, February 7th, 2018 – The snowbanks are getting high in places – taken on Shore Lane walking home. Not a soul here this time of year.
Thursday, February 8th, 2018 – looking toward Blue Mountain in the distance. It’s so nice to see blue sky for a change. For the last week we’ve been under overcast skies and lake effect snow.
Saturday, February 10th, 2018 – we had more fresh snow overnight. I needed to walk down the snowmobile trails because the snow was too deep elsewhere. I saw three snowmobilers. I didn’t take pictures of them because I thought this would be creepy 🙂
Saturday, February 10th, 2018 – I’m not sure what to make of this. I’ve walked by this makeshift shelter for two months near 13th street and see changes suggesting somebody is visiting this shelter regularly. I hope this is “for fun” and nobody is spending the night here out of necessity.
