This week was the lead up to the Victoria Day weekend, aka “the May 2-4”.
Victoria Day marks the unofficial start of summer.
Monday, May 17th, 2021 – Hiking from the Recplex towards Beach 6 on a Monday evening. This trail winds by the parking lot where all the COVID vaccines are being administered.Wednesday, May 19th, 2021 – Taken just west of Beach one. Not packed, but small glimmers of a tourist season despite the lock-down?Thursday, May 20th, 2021 – looking west from a private part of the beach west of Beach 6. There are a few large boulders along this part of the beach and many just below the surface – our own “shear pin bay”Thursday, May 20th, 2021 – I hope I’m not invading anyone’s privacy with this picture. I usually avoid getting too many pictures of people close up, but I thought that this family picture was a keeper!Friday, May 21st, 2021 – The Friday before Victoria Day – looking towards Beach one.Saturday, May 22nd, 2021 – Anti-climactic. Unfortunately, the weather was miserable on Saturday and I ended up getting soaked walking through rain and drizzle. I feel bad for people that made the trip up from Toronto.
