The cover picture for this week is the sand dunes formed after clearing Beach drive. The town erected fencing this week and left the sand piles in place rather than bringing them to the water’s edge, where the waves would take the sand away. I assume this was done to protect the store fronts along Beach drive from Fall and Winter storms.

Sunday, December 4th, 2022 – Walking east from Beach 6 on Sunday late in the afternoon.
Sunday, December 4th, 2022 – Looking west along Beach six. The sand is wet from melting snow and wave action.
Tuesday, December 6th, 2022 – Walking down to the beach entrance along 39th street as the sun sets before 5:00pm
Wednesday, December 7th, 2022 – The town has erected snow fences to protect beach one. I’m not entirely sure why since there are still piles of sand that resulted from clearing the sand off the road. The town intentionally left Beach Drive covered with sand for the past two years due to the high water on the great lakes.
Thursday, December 8th, 2022 – A picture of the three condominium units at 12th street taken on return from my daily walk to Beach one,
Thursday, December 8th, 2022 – “Bungalows on the Beach” at 18th street. This is where I usually exit the beach on my way home from Beach one. After six years of daily beach walks, I’ve gotten to know the owner, although he is usually only around in the summer months.
Friday, December 9th, 2022 – Returning from Beach one along the Beach 2 boardwalk covered by blowing sand.
Saturday, December 10th, 2022 – It was -10C overnight, and it is finally cold enough to get some shore ice forming from the shore. The Winds were from the south today, so the water level is unusually low. The rippled sand I’m walking on was covered by water yesterday.
Saturday, December 10th, 2022 – Shore ice on a cold morning walk.
