I didn&#8217;t venture out on the ice because I wasn&#8217;t sure if it was safe.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-135\" 980px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There was no ridge from the snow plow up near beach one for some reason (they must have removed it because the banks were large elsewhere), so I had no trouble getting into the parking lot.\u00a0 As you can see, there is little\u00a0competition for parking spots in January.\u00a0 This lot would be packed any day in the summer.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" nasty.\u00a0 You can see in the photo below, that just one day later the beach was being swept of snow providing a hard surface to walk on.\u00a0 Pictured to the right, the ice berms\u00a0are getting higher as waves continue to crash up forming more ice.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-138\" came across a raft lodged in the ice near beach six.\u00a0 I doubt this came across the lake because it\u00a0doesn&#8217;t look nearly damaged enough.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" proper journal of some kind, so I started to carry a better camera with me to take pictures.\u00a0 Most the pictures after January 10th are taken with a\u00a0Sony Cybershot already sometimes I still snap pictures with my phone.<\/p>\n<p>The picture below is taken\u00a0on beach one looking toward the pavilion on Beach street on January 14th.\u00a0 I have no idea how the large ice chunks got there.\u00a0 I saw pictures on the news that Beach Drive had been underwater at one point because of high waves so I suspect this is the fallout.\u00a0 Some heavy equipment must have been piling up snow and I&#8217;m guessing the waves eroded the snow banks.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-140\" 100vw, 980px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>By January 14th enough snow was swept off the boardwalk that you could walk on it again.\u00a0 Note how the sand from the beach is mixed with snow.\u00a0 This picture is
