It’s been a cold, wet May and June!<\/p>\n

Finally we are getting some decent weather. The weekend of June 8th finally felt like summer.<\/p>\n

Much of the beach is unusable because of the high water levels on Georgian Bay, but beach one and beach two are looking great – just a little smaller than prior years.<\/p>\n

Friday, June 7th, 2019 – This organic material isn’t anything to worry about, but the local residents aren’t happy.\u00a0 In this part of the beach the mulch has nowhere to escape to. With the water being so high, waves are leaching organic material from shorelines plants back into the water. Local residents tell me that the water is still rising and that they expect it to rise higher in July. Definitely not a good year for the beach.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Friday, June 7th, 2019 – Provincial Park employees can no longer follow the beach so we are taking the same detours in order to get down the beach.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Saturday, June 8th, 2019 – awesome evening Saturday – following an older couple east of Beach one down a walkway toward the main beach. Parts of the beach fenced off because this is a nesting area for Piping Plovers, and endangered species.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The beach is clear to 16th street (to the right in this picture), but after that you need to retreat away from the shoreline again.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
