This week my regular beach walks were interrupted by a short trip down to Toronto to celebrate my son Ben and his girlfriend Sophia being sworn to the bar. Ben’s grandparents were able to attend the ceremony at Roy Thompson Hall. Definitely a memorable occasion!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We enjoyed the Canada holiday later in the week. Always a big weekend at Wasaga Beach. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tuesday, June 28th, 2022 – By Tuesday, I was back at the beach with our company still in town. This picture was taken entering the beach along one of the paths west of 13th street. The winds have turned this trail into a new sand dune.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Wednesday, June 29th, 2022 – Another trail from the beach near 13th street. This time I was exiting the beach.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Thursday, June 30th, 2022 – The town is getting ready for the Canada Day fireworks, blocking off the part of the beach where the fireworks will be launched near the beach 2 boardwalk.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Friday, July 1st, 2022 – I took my usual Canada Day walk. Cool! Nice to see free parking! I have a resident’s pass, but it’s great that people coming up for the day can save $20.00.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Friday, July 1st, 2022 – Unfortunately, I didn’t stay up late enough to see the fireworks myself this year. I think it’s great that the town of Wasaga Beach is investing in top-quality fireworks for the long weekends this summer. Worth every penny, in my view. An interesting article in the Toronto Star on this topic here<\/a>.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Saturday, July 2nd, 2022 – Over the Canada day weekend, we had more security than I recall ever seeing before. There was an OPP command post set up at beach one, and there were three cruisers plus private security at the LCBO at beach one.
