We continued to see harsh winter conditions this week. Once again, the snow drifts along Shore Lane Drive are epic! The cover picture for this post was taken looking west on Shore Lane, a few blocks west of Beach Area 5. The snow drifts along the lake are easily ten feet high in places.<\/p>\n\n\n

Monday, February 23rd, 2026 – Walking down Shore Lane Drive. The drifts in this picture are coming from the water to the north. If not for snow clearing, the entire length of ShoreLane would be covered to this depth in snow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tuesday, February 24th, 2026 – It’s tough to be a beach-walker this time of year. I followed this snowmobile track from 57th street heading east for a few blocks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wednesday, February 25th, 2026 – Looking north from 30th street. South Georgian Bay is completely frozen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friday, February 27th, 2026 – The amount of snow along the beach has been epic. The town clears fire hydrants in case of emergency, and it is a good thing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
