We had some beautiful summer weather this week, with daytime highs in the 30s. By the end of the week, things were cooling down nicely.

Sunday, May 24th, 2020 – This is the main pavilion at beach one at Wasaga Beach on a warm Sunday morning.  Normally the beach would be packed on US Memorial Day. Due to the beach closures and COVID-19 the main parking lot is deserted.
Monday, May 25th, 2020 – This picture taken at the 16th street beach entrance looking north towards Wasaga Beach on another warm day. You can see mist over the beach. This is common this time of year. The sand is heated by the sun, but the air is cold because of the breeze across Georgian Bay – the result is steam coming from the sand.
Monday, May 25th, 2020 – Taken near 13th street at the end of Shore Lane looking south. Out of the wind it is very warm, but the air is cold this close to the Bay. You can see mist across the sand more clearly in this picture.
Tuesday, May 26th, 2020 – Another spectacular day. This picture taken near 16th street at Wasaga Beach looking towards Collingwood across the bay.
Thursday, May 28th, 2020 – Another day in the high 20s – looking south near 13th street. The water is to my back.
Friday May 29th, 2020 – Crews are only just starting to clear the beach. Usually by this time of year the beach is already clear of winter debris. Because of the record high water levels, there is almost no beach to clear unfortunately.
Friday May 29th, 2020 – Taken from the boardwalk @ Beach 2. You see the odd person breaking the rules, but generally most people are staying away from the beach and respecting the closure.
