It’s sad to see summer come to a close, but I confess it is also nice to have the beach back to myself. I couldn’t believe how quickly the crowds cleared out on Labour Day Monday after fireworks the night before.

Sunday, September 5th, 2021 – An evening walk down Beach 6. The sunset this evening was majestic. Literally everyone along the beach was focused on the sunset (except the kids playing in the water of course)
Sunday, September 5th, 2021 – Sunset this time of year is just before 8:00 PM. I snapped this picture at my usual route walking back from my turnaround point near 57th street. This is well west of Beach 6 so the beach is always kind of deserted here.
Monday, September 6th, 2021 – Taken near beach 3 around 10:00 AM walking from 18th street on our way towards the main beach. A Fall-like morning. You can see rain on the horizon, likely falling over Midland or Penetanguishene based on the direction.
Monday, September 6th, 2021 – This was a treat! We say three piping plovers far away from their nesting area. The efforts at Wasaga Beach to save this endangered species are clearly working. https://www.wasagabeachpark.com/piping-plover-2/
Monday, September 6th, 2021 – The Blue Flag flying over Wasaga Beach. The Blue Flag program is internationally recognized for safety and sustainability. I think it is great that Wasaga Beach is participating. You can learn about the Blue Flag program here – https://www.blueflag.global/
Tuesday, September 7th, 2021 – I snapped this picture during an evening walk near beach 6 looking west.
Wednesday, September 8th, 2021 – Fall is the best time of year. The Blue Mountains on the far shore. Looking west from near Beach 6.
Wednesday, September 8th, 2021 – Walking east along the beach on Wednesday evening. One of the better rainbows I’ve seen in a long time.
Wednesday, September 8th, 2021 – I haven’t seen this kind of wind surfer before. Note that the sail is not anchored to the board. This is clearly difficult.

Thursday, September 9th, 2021 – A turkey vulture, flying low near Beach 6.
Thursday, September 9th, 2021 – Fun properties along the waterfront.
Thursday, September 9th, 2021 – I usually turn around at this landmark near 57th street when I walk down the west end of the beach.
Friday, September 10th, 2021 – Strange to see Beach one deserted.
Saturday, September 11th, 2021 – Trails just south of the beach near Beach 2.

Another awesome week. This was an excellent week for kite sailors with steady west winds. Beach 6 is a favorite spot for kite sailors under an agreement reached with the town. Skite sailing spots in Ontario here – https://ikite.ca/locations-forecast/ontario/

Monday, August 30th, 2021 – Taken at Beach 6. An epic day for kite sailors.
Monday, August 30th, 2021 – The telephoto lens makes the sails look closer than they are, but beach 6 was packed today. Ideal conditions.
Monday, August 30th, 2021 – Lots of sails close up to the beach.
Tuesday, August 31st – Walking along Beach 2 at noon.
Wednesday, September 1st, 2021 –
Wednesday, September 1st, 2021 –
Thursday, September 2nd – I needed to cut my walk short today. Following a hidden trail from the park at 13th street to Beach 3.
Friday, September 3rd, 2021 – Getting ready for Fireworks on the Labor Day weekend.
Saturday, September 4th. Taken at beach one after walking from 18th street. A new sand dune out in front of beach one.

Despite the warm weather summer is coming to and end. It’s hard to keep falling leaves out of the tree in our backyard. Pics from my daily beachwalks below.

Sunday, August 22nd, 2021 – Some sculpted a mermaid around Beach 3 – very cool.
Sunday, August 22nd, 2021 – A sculpture of a dolphin in the same area.
Monday, August 23rd, 2021 – This summer I walk down the beach twice a day most days. Looking west from just east of 57th street.
Tuesday, August 24th, 2021 – The seagulls are way too tame.
Tuesday, August 24th, 2021 – A pontoon boat in the distance.
