This week we traveled to Ottawa to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. The weather wasn’t as warm as we would like, but we stayed downtown and traveled all around the Ottawa area where we lived from approximately 1985 to 2000. We spent years working in the downtown core so it was great to re-visit all our favorite spots.

Sunday, May 18th, 2025 – We stayed at the Ottawa Embassy suites – it’s an older hotel, and one of our favorite places right near Elgin Street downtown and steps from the Rideau Canal.
Sunday, May 18th, 2025 – I walked down Gilmour to see where the appartment (at Gilmour and Bay) that Bill Marsh and I lived in during our second year of University. It hasn’t chagnged a bit.
Monday, May 19th, 2025 – Monday morning I took and early walk down the canal and headed up to Wellington street. It was a chilly morning, but the tulip festival was in full swing. This was one week before King Charles’ visit to Canada and speech from the throne to open Parliament. Things were quiet because the government wasn’t sitting.
Tuesday, May 20th, 2025 – The weather improved slightly and I took my daily walk down the canal. This picture taken heading north back to the hotel and parliament hill after turning around near Landsdowne park.
Tuesday, May 20th, 2025 – We took some time to visit Michelle’s Dad at the National Military Cemetary at Beechwood.
Tuesday, May 20th, 2025 – We parked near the tank so we didn’t get lost 🙂
Saturday, May 24th, 2025 – The weather has been cool and wet, but it was good to be back at Wasaga Beach by the end of the week. This picture taken at Beach area 5.
