This week we got some steady west winds that reminded us how high the water is relative to previous years. It showed the wisdom of letting the beach reclaim beach drive.

Saturday, October 4th, 2020 – Mom heading down the beach with me on a rainy Saturday morning. Too much rain and fog to see the far shore of the Nottawasaga bay today.
Monday, October 5th, 2020 – This is the time of year that the seagulls start to gather before migrating south. They look for warm spots where they can find food.
Monday, October 5th, 2020 – Walking back to my truck through the road into the provincial parking lot near Beach 2.
Tuesday, October 6th, 2020 – Looking across the bat towards Collingwood.
Wednesday, October 7th, 2020 – Steady northwest winds had the beach completely underwater today. I had to walk along the shore and the roadways all the way to beach one.
Wednesday, October 7th, 2020 – At Beach one, even though the sand has been built up over the roadway to protect the business in behind, waves were still washing in over the former Beach drive.
Thursday, October 8th, 2020 – On Thursday early evening, I headed from the Recplex through a bush trail to Beach 6.
Thursday, October 8th, 2020 – Taken at beach 6 looking across the bay towards Collingwood (Collingwood looks much closer from this part of the beach)
Friday, October 9th, 2020 – Looking east from beach 6 with the sun low on the horizon near 6:00pm.
Friday, October 9th, 2020 – Walking east towards beach one. With the wind from the south (to the right in this picture), there was lots of beach exposed today. On Wednesday, waves were all the way up to the grass.

The week started out with summer-like weather and dropped in the first few days of October. This time of year I usually have the beach to myself.

Sunday, September 27th, 2020 – This sign is new since I last walked down this part of the beach west of 16th street – thoughtful of someone to warn people.
Monday, September 28th, 2020 – Lots of seagulls to the east of beach area 1
Monday, September 28th, 2020 – Taken from along the beach near 13th street. Where the beach is now was all grass two years ago. The high waters have eroded the shoreline significantly.
Tuesday, September 29th, 2020 – Walking back home from the provincial park at the east end of Wasaga Beach looking toward the main beach parking lot.
Thursday, October 1st, 2020 – Today I was in a race with the rain and just made it back in time. Taken near 15th street looking west.
Thursday, October 1st, 2020 – High waves have trapped water in this gully along what used to be beach drive.
Friday, October 2nd, 2020 – On Friday morning beach one has been groomed. Getting ready for the Thanksgiving weekend perhaps?
Friday, October 2nd, 2020 – A jumble of chairs at a property just west of 13th street. I’m not sure how they got there – strong south wind?
