January 2020 has been warm. Lots of days above freezing. This makes walking down the beach challenging as I need to deal with water, slush, and dodgy ice conditions.  I shifted me walks to early morning when the temperatures were still below freezing so I had better conditions.

January 26th, 2020 – Looking across the bay on an unseasonably warm Sunday morning walking through slush along the beach.
Monday, January 27th, 2020 – Looking east towards beach one from near 18th street.
Monday, January 27th, 2020 – Someone built awesome snowmen along the beach near 13the street. Very cool.
Friday, January 31st – more of the same this week I’m afraid. Little change in the ice conditions.
Saturday, February 1st, 2020 – lonely picnic tables along the beach 2 boardwalk
Saturday, February 1st, 2020 – look west from the boardwalk at beach 2

Finally some cold nights. The bay froze over as far as we could see. Still, 2020 looks like a mild winter. I wouldn’t be walking out on the ice right now.

Monday, January 20th, 2020 – After a cold night, the ice extended further across the bay.
Monday, January 20th, 2020 – a cold night with fresh new snow made for awesome conditions today. Easier to walk along the snowmobile trails where the snow is packed.
Tuesday, January 21st, 2020 – Looking east along the board on the east side of Beach drive.
Wednesday, January 22nd, 2020 – Looking towards the Blue Mountains across the bay from Wasaga Beach near 16th street.
Thursday, January 23rd, 2020 – A warm day today resulted in ice breaking up across the bay – looking towards Blue Mountain.
Friday, January 24th, 2020 – These homes along Shore Lane are safe, but this picture shows the extent of the shore erosion at 13th street due to the record high water on the Great Lakes this year.
Saturday, January 25th, 2020 – Looking across the bay on a snowy Saturday morning.

Friday January 17th, 2020 – Look towards the bay from the 18th street entrance to Wasaga Beach
Friday January 17th, 2020 – looking across the Bay towards Collingwood on a cold and sunny Friday morning.
Saturday, January 18th, 2020 – On my way to beach one walking along the ice with a snow squall headed my way.
Saturday, January 18th, 2020 – Walking west down Shore Lane on my return journey from beach one.
Saturday, January 18th, 2020 – This is one of the most spectacular homes on Shore Lane. Why shovel snow when you have a heated driveway! (I’m jealous)
