The days are pleasant and the nights are cool. Interesting to see how changing weather conditions are contributing to sand dunes off shore.

Wednesday, September 18th, 2019 – I didn’t note the location, but this pictures was taken somewhere between 18th and 13th street looking NNE towards Christian Island.  You can see that the beach is very shallow 100+ feet from shore.

Wednesday, September 18th, 2019 – Looking east across the beach near 13th street. Although the beach is being groomed by heavy equipment, you can see the effects of erosion from waves. In the early spring, the grass extended all the way to where the water is now. Now you need to be a mountain goat to climb the beach entrances at 13th street.
Wednesday, September 18th, 2019 – These cottages known as “At the Sands” aka “Sandpiper Beach Resort” are near 13th street a short walk from beach one. They are popular with students. When my son was at Newmarket High School they booked these waterfront cottages for a post-graduation party – more details at http://wasagabeachcottagerental.com/
Thursday, September 19th, 2019 – Looking toward Blue Mountain across the Nottawasaga Bay – these shallow sand bars come and go day to day depending on wave action, but the seagulls love them!
Thursday, September 19th, 2019 – walking back home on Thursday, I circled back through the provincial park that runs across the Wasaga Beach shore line. This picture taken west of the west-end beach area 2 boardwalk. Hardly a person in sight.
Saturday, September 21st, 2019 – Taken with a telephoto lens. It’s hard to estimate distance across water, but this dog was at least 120 feet from shore (playing catch). The water is shallow despite the high water levels and there are more sand dunes cresting the surface than last year. I think that as the shoreline has eroded. The sand has stayed close to shore making the beach shallower (and warmer) than usual.
Saturday, September 21st, 2019 – Taken early morning looking inland just west of the Beach area 2 boardwalk near the main beach.
Saturday, September 21st, 2019 – A fancy new sign erected this summer at beach area one that I failed to point out before.
Saturday, September 21st, 2019 – walked back through the provincial park again today parallel to the beach. Fall colors are just a few weeks away.
