Happy Canada Day! The beach is slowly coming back to life as more people get vaccinated. Things were shockingly quiet over the Canada Day weekend compared to prior years.
Sunday, June 28th, 2021 – After a few days of rain I came across this turtle along Shore Lane on my way to beach one. As turtles go, this guy was moving pretty quickly.
Sunday, June 28th, 2021 – Kite sailors today off beach one. Taken at a distance along the western boardwalk.
Sunday, June 28th, 2021 – It’s hard to get good pictures of kite sailors because the people are >80 feet from the sail – a good picture here of a kite sailor gone airborne. This happens all the time, but it’s hard to capture!
June 29th, 2021 – taken around 5:00PM looking west from near Beach 6th. The water level is receding, so the odd big rock out in the water along this part of the beach is visible. This part of the beach is treacherous for boaters!
July 1st, 2021 – Things were shockingly quiet along beach one on Canada Day morning. We stopped to enjoy a coffee along Beach Drive at around 10:30 AM. Thankfully, things got more busy through the day as the sun came out.
Friday, July 2nd, 2021 – Lots of kite sailors along beach six on a spectacular Friday evening.
Friday, July 2nd, 2021 – Taken near the Beach 6 parking lot looking east. Beach one is approximately ~8km along the shore from this location. I counted sixteen kite sailors this evening – the most I’ve seen at once.
