The featured picture for this post was taken on Sunday in the late afternoon, looking west from the beach at 30th Street. You can see from my footprints in the snow why it is tiring to walk across the beach this time of year. This is why I spend ~80% of my time walking along plowed roads parallel to the beach.

Sunday, February 8th, 2026 – Walking East along Shore Lane. This picture was taken at 16th Street looking East.

Sunday, February 8th, 2026 – The amount of snow is unbelievable. Some properties have services that clear their driveways, and others do not. The driveway for this property has been cleared.

Sunday, February 8th, 2026 – This is another property east of 16th where there has been no effort to clear the driveway. The street-facing side of the cottage is visible, but the beach-facing side is buried in snow.

Monday, February 9th, 2026 – I took this picture looking south at 29th street, standing on top of a mound of snow created by plows. The snowbank is easily 12 feet tall.

Wednesday, February 11th, 2026 – Looking west on my way to 16th street, walking along Shore Lane. The snow is too deep for snowplows, and thank banks bear the marks of snowblower augers affixed to tractors.

Thursday, February 12th, 2026 – Nottawasaga Bay to the north is frozen solid. As this picture shows, the beach is passable only with snowshoes. This time of year, I walk along Shore Lane and venture to the beach only when there are packed snowmobile trails.

Friday, February 13th, 2026 – Lookng East at Shore Lane near Beach Area 3 with 16th street at my back

Saturday, February 14th, 2026 – Looking west from near 13th street along Shore Lane.
