2026 marks the beginning of the tenth year that I’ve been walking down the beach daily and posting pictures. Considering I actually started my daily walks in 2016 (but didn’t get the idea to create a website until a year later), it is actually 11 years.
January is a time for New Year’s resolutions, and this year I plan to bring my daily walks to Canada’s new social media platform, Gander, once it launches at the end of the month. (see https://gandersocial.ca)

Monday, January 5th, 2026 – We are running out of places to put the snow! I snapped this picture along Shore Lane, west of 13th Street, to show how high the snowbanks are getting.

Tuesday, January 6th, 2026 – Thankfully, someone had already pulled a sleigh down the trail between the RecPlex and ShoreLane, or walking the trail after the snow would have been difficult.

Wednesday, January 7th, 2026 – 57th street is often my turnaround point when I walk the west end of the beach. There is ice along the shore, but Georgian Bay remains wide open.

Thursday, January 8th, 2026 – Today was absolutely gorgeous with a few more inches of fresh snow. This picture was taken at Beach Area 3, walking down snowmobile trails heading west in the late morning.

Friday, January 8th, 2026 – Looking northwest from Beach Area 5 on another sunny day.
