The winter weather continued this week, but many days were pleasant for walking with daytime highs above freezing. At times, the beach has been difficult to walk on due to drifting snow.
Sunday, January 11th, 2026 – Walking down snowmobile trail criss-crossing the beach near Beach Area 4.
Monday, January 12th, 2026 – Georgian Bay is still open – looking northwest from the Provincial Park at Beach Area 5.
Tuesday, January 13th, 2026 – Walking across snow-covered trails at Beach Area 5.
Wednesday, January 14th, 2026 – Crossing snow drifts to enter the beach near Beach Area 3.
Thursday, January 15th, 2026 – Steady blowing snow along Shore Lane during my daily walks.
Friday, January 16th, 2026 – Snowdrifts at Beach Area 5 have almost reached the height of the structure at the entrance to the Beach 5 parking area.
Saturday, January 17th, 2026 – Exiting the beach near 45th street after walking along the snowmobile tracks from Beach area 6.
