This year was a little unusual with Canada Day falling on a Wednesday, so we didn’t really have a clear long weekend. From the crowds at the beach, it seemed like a lot of people decided to take the whole week off of work! We had some of the hottest temperatures of the year so far with highs into the low 30s.

Sunday, June 28th, 2026 – The week before the Canada Day Long weekend, the beach is geting crowded.
Monday, June 29th, 2026 – People traveling to the beach often stay for the entire day, carrying their supplies in wagons and pitching tents.
Tuesday, June 30th, 2026 – Exiting the east end of Beach Area 5 after heavy rain the night before.
Wednesday, July 1st – Canada Day. The beach was absolutely packed on a beautiful Canada Day.
Thursday, July 2nd, 2026 – A gorgeous day looking from Beach Area 5 across the bay to Collingwood in the background.
