The red maple pictured here is in our front yard. We have eight similar sized trees and I’ve had my hands full picking up leaves. We’ve collected 65 bags of mulched leaves so far. This week was the countdown to Halloween.

Sunday, October 25th, 2020 – Looking east walking toward beach one near 13th street. Recent winds and waves have further eroded the shoreline to the right. The footpath that I normally take to get down to the beach was gone – instead I found a sheer drop today.
Monday, October 26th, 2020 – The western boardwalk is getting battered by waves and high water also. Peaceful today. The beach is a little wider than usual because we have a gentle south wind.
Wednesday, October 28th, 2020 – Looking east across Beach Drive. With the high water, the road is all  covered with sand. The retaining wall is new construction this summer aimed at protecting businesses along beach one.
Wednesday, October 28th, 2020 – looking west along beach one – you can see the retaining wall aimed at protecting structures along beach one from high water. Where you see sand was previously a road. The beach used to extend 100 yards to the right of this picture.
Wednesday, October 28th, 2020 – I took this picture in the evening near beach six.
Thursday, October 29th, 2020 – The leaves can be spectacular this time of year.
Thursday, October 29th, 2020 – Our driveway looking south just before Halloween. I’m starting to worry about picking all these leaves up.
Saturday, October 31st, 2020 – Halloween day was awesome – around 7 degrees with gentle winds.
Saturday, October 31st, 2020 – Today we found countless spheres made of tiny branches and sand. There were thousands of similar spheres and they just appeared today. I assume this is the result of wave action.
Saturday, October 31st, 2020 – Ready for Trick-or-Treaters in the Covid era!
