The rule of thumb around here is not to plant flowers until May 1st. This year the season is way early. There is still the potential for a killing frost. We’re holding off.

This week, I lost my Sony camera. I’ve used it for six years, and managed to lose it riding down the beach on my mom’s new e-bike. I re-traced my path on foot to try and find where I might have dropped it, but no luck. The beach was crowded, and someone picked it up.

Thanks to Amazon, I had a new replacement camera by Wednesday (amazing). Not that the pictures will improve, but after April 14th, pictures are taken with my new updated Sony camera. For any photographers out there, the camera I selected is a Sony Cyber-Shot DSCHX99 High Zoom Camera. From what I understand, this camera offers the highest optical zoom, in the smallest physical package.

Monday, April 12th, 2021 – Taken with my phone as I was without my regular camera – I thought it was cool that someone took the time to do this.
Monday, April 12th, 2021 – An overcast weekend after a week of beautiful weather
Wednesday, April 14th, 2021 – Experimenting with my new camera at home while Dixie looks at me suspiciously – she’s ready to pounce.
Wednesday, April 14th, 2021 – Taken near the far east end of the beach @ 57th street where there is a storm sewer outlet. From here, I’m walking back to the Recplex where I’m parked.
Thursday, April 15th, 2021 – another overcast day. On my way back from beach one, cutting across the dunes to join Shore Lane west of 13th street.
Friday, April 16, 2021 – Beach 6 looking particularly desolate during a cool evening walk with strong north winds. Taken just east of 50th street.
Saturday, April 17th, 2021 – On the way to beach one from 18th street.  The beach looks ugly, but it is in remarkably good condition compared to previous years.
Saturday, April 17th, 2021 – The Collingwood terminals are a landmark around here. I think my new camera takes a better picture. This is ~ 10 km away from where I was standing. Still traces of snow on Blue Mountain.
