This week, an interesting new home began going up on 57th Street. Unlike most of the other homes built along the beach, this one has a steel frame. It will be fun to watch construction proceed over the Spring.

Sunday, March 8th, 2026 – The view from a Beach Entrance at the far East end of Shore Lane, west of 13th street, near Beach Area 3.

Monday, March 9th, 2026 – The entrance to the parking lot at Beach Area 6. The snow has finally melted enough to enter the beach from this point.

Tuesday, March 10th, 2026 – Meltwater running down the beach near 57th street.

Wednesday, March 11th, 2026 – A new home under construction at Shore Lane and 57th Street.

Thursday, March 12th, 2026 – I started walking down the beach again instead of Shore Lane, but as this picture shows, there is lots of slush and mud to deal with.

Friday, March 13th, 2026 – Heading west on Shore Lane towards Beach area 5 on a snowy Friday afternoon. To the left of the picture, you can see where a fire hydrant has been dug out of the snow for safety reasons.

Saturday, March 14th, 2026 – The snow was deep on Saturday, but it was a beautiful walk from the Recplex to Shore Lane along a trail through the woods.

Saturday, March 14th, 2026 – Looking north towards Shore Lane and the water from a street between Beach areas 5 and 6.
