Week of April 5th, 2026

April showers bring May flowers. Despite a few nice days like the one above, most days in April have been rainy. The last bit of ice along Wasaga Beach is beginning to melt, but you can still see snow on the ski hills in the distance at Blue Mountain.

Sunday, April 5th, 2026 – Once again this year, the flag at this home along Shore Lane Drive has been torn to shreds by the west wind. We will know Spring has officially arrived when the flag is replaced.

Monday, April 6th, 2026 – Beach Area 5 is flooded as the snow melts. Sump pumps all along Linda Lane are working steadily. In this area, houses with basements need battery backup for their sump pumps.

Tuesday, April 7th, 2026 – Looking northwest on a windy Tuesday. The waves are driving the last of the ice onto the shore, where the warm sand melts it quickly.

Wednesday, April 8th, 2026 – Year-round residences just west of Beach Area 5. Looking south from the Beach.

Thursday, April 9th, 2026 – This is the first time in 2026 that I’ve seen ducks.

Friday, April 10th, 2026 – Washrooms and a pump shed at Shore Lane and 45th street as seen from the beach. The snow fence is still up to help prevent drifting along Shore Lane.

Saturday, April 11th, 2026 – Looking towards the water from near Beach Area 6.
