As friends know, I catalog the high and low temperatures during my daily walks down the beach. It’s become a habit. For consistency, I use a site called https://www.wunderground.com to get daily temperatures.

Just a heads up, but history functions on weather underground appear to be having trouble. Sometimes when I try to get daily highs and lows for Collingwood or Wasaga Beach I end up with temperatures at nearby CFB Borden.

Not sure if this is a bug or a feature. Anyway, take my daily temperatures with a grain of salt. Another week of awesome weather. Not to jinx it, but this is one of the best summers I remember in years.

This week was the annual Wasaga Beach Motorcycle Rally. Other than Canada Day, today was the second busiest day at the beach. The bikers that attend are all cool, courteous and here for a good time. Info on the event at http://wasagabeachrally.com/. Turns out this is the largest bike rally in Canada.

The picture below is from the event last year. I have my own pictures from this year’s event further down.

Wasaga Beach Motorcycle Rally – picture from the event website
Sunday, July 15th, 2018 – I took a second evening walk down the beach on Sunday evening. Jamie (my younger son) often wanders by the beach in the evening on his way home from work to hook up with friends and see what’s going on.
Sunday, July 15th, 2018 – These deck chairs at the east end of Shore Lane look inviting. They always catch my eye. The properties along this section of the beach are beautiful.
Sunday, July 15th, 2018 – Looking west across Nottawasaga Bay.
Tuesday, July 17, 2018 -Tuesday we had cool northwest winds so things were a little less crowded. Lots of people having fun in the waves by the boardwalk.
Tuesday, July 17, 2018 – Looking north exiting the beach near 13th street to walk back along the street. A perfect summer day.
Wednesday, July 18, 2018 – Looking toward Collingwood and Blue Mountain from near 18th street
Wednesday, July 18, 2018 – Taken from the park between Shore Lane and 13th street.
Thursday, July 19, 2018 – I’m not sure what this is all about. Someone apparently built a shelter using cardboard boxes and a raft. There was nobody inside. Kids I guess?
Thursday, July 19, 2018 – A stand-up paddleboarder in the middle of nowhere. I think she covered a good distance!
Friday, July 20th, 2018 – over the last few weeks, several sand shoals have been emerging just off shore. Little kids just love playing on these. I counted six between beach four and beach one.
Friday, July 20th, 2018 – I’m seeing a lot of these inflatable swans this year. Someone is doing a good business selling these!
Saturday, July 20th, 2018 – One of the park rangers talking to a guest (not my nephew). The beach was so busy today he was patrolling by driving in the water rather than on the sand. The water is shallow for a long distance out.
Saturday, July 20th, 2018 – As you get closer to beach one, things get steadily busier.
Saturday, July 20th, 2018 – Beach one was packed today because of the annual Wasaga Beach motorcycle festival. What a great event!
Saturday, July 20th, 2018 – Not only were bikers all over the beach, they were all over town. Every second vehicle on the road was a motorbike. I’m glad for the bikers and event organizers that they are getting great weather.
