While the US has had record high temperatures this summer, as you can see by the temperatures above, we’ve had an almost perfect summer. Nice and warm during the day, but cooling down nicely at night for sleeping.

We had a brief bout of unsettled weather on Saturday August 12th, and a funnel cloud appeared even appeared off of beach one. The storm was very fast moving though and blew through in less than 30 minutes. The feature picture is not mine. It was circulating on Facebook, and regretfully I don’t know who the photographer was.

Sunday, August 6th, 2023 – When people come up from Toronto for a day trip, they come in style. I’m always amazed at how much gear people bring. Tents, bbqs, boomboxes, and sometimes even change huts. I guess if you plan to spend the day you may as well be comfortable.
Monday, August 7th, 2023 – It’s nice to have a cloudy day. As you can see, the crowds simply evaporate when this happens!
Tuesday, August 8th, 2023 – A perfect day for kite sailing and as you can see the number of sails, there are lots of people taking advantage. Winds are strong from the north west washing up on the beach. Beach 6 is a designated area for kite sailing on windy days.
Wednesday, August 9th, 2023 – You could almost forget you are on a fresh water beach on days like today and imagine yourself in Cuba or the Dominican Republic. Spectactular conditions.
Thursday, August 10th, 2023 – Looking west from the east of 57th street at the far west end of the beach.
Saturday, August 12th, 2023 – When you see skies like this you know something is up! This picture taken about 30 minutes after heavy rains and high winds complete with a funnel cloud pounded the beach. You can see that the beach is still saturated with water from rain and high waves.
