This week we had snow on most days. I much prefer to see snow this time of year, but when it gets deep, it can make the beach a little difficult to walk on until the snowmobiles pack the trails. The feature picture for this post was taken around sunset, walking near 57th Street along the beach.

Sunday, November 30th, 2025 – Walking down the trails in the evening along Beach area 5.
Monday, December 1st, 2025 – You definitely get more exercise walking down the beach this time of year. When the snow is soft, walking becomes much harder. This picture was taken west of Beach Area 6.
Tuesday, December 2nd, 2025 – After a cold night, you can see ice far out in the distance on Georgian Bay. Usually, the bay freezes from the shoreline out, with the shallow water freezing first.
Wednesday, December 3rd, 2025 – Wednesday brought more snow covering ice along the shore.
Thursday, December 4th, 2025 – Wednesday evening brought heavier snow. The snowplow always leaves huge banks at the end of our driveway. Last season, I needed to shovel them by hand when the auger on my snowblower broke, but thankfully, everything is in good shape this year.
Thursday, December 5th, 2025 – Hwy 26 was closed today due to snow squalls. This picture shows snow drifting across Shore Lane during a later afternoon walk near Beach Area 3.
Friday, December 5th,2025 – By Friday, there had been enough foot traffic on the bush trails that they were easy to walk down. This is the trail between the Recplex and Shore Lane.
Saturday, December 6th, 2025 – The trails are hard to see along Beach Area 5, but I followed my usual route, walking through snow drifts in places.
