It’s wonderful to see how tourism to the beach has recovered post-Covid. The beach has come back to life despite all the construction down at Beach Area one and the shops and restaurants appear to be full. Details of the plans to revitalize Wasaga Beach as a tourist destination can be found at https://wasagabeach.com/imagine. It wil be exciting to see all these developments.
The cover shot for this post is a free weekend concert that took place at the Recplex on Saturday, July 11th. It was great to see lots of talented local performers. Sunday, July 5th, 2026 – Play structures at Beach Area 5.
Tuesday, July 7th, 2026 – This new sign recently appeared at the east end of Beach Area one, just as you enter the piping plovers habitat. The town of Wasaga Beach has recently assumed control over this section of the beach from the province, and it is nice to see these small improvements being made. The town of Wasaga Beach recently announced a partnership with Birds Canada to help protect to Piping Plovers.
Tuesday, July 7th, 2026 – A spectacular summer day on my way to Beach Area one. This picture taken near Beach Area 3 looking towards the main Beach. There is no parking close to this area of the beach, so it is often less crowded.
Thursday, July 9th, 2026 – This picture taken near the new store at Beach Area 5. This is one of my favorite beach areas because it is less crowded and less developed than Beach Areas 1 and 2.
Thursday, July 9th, 2026 – On Thursday evening, our family headed to the Wasaga Beach Public Library to support our daughter-in-law Christina who is a local artist showing a recent painting at the art show. Her piece is entitled “I guess you can stay.”
Friday, July 10th, 2026 – A boat anchored just offshore with a kite sailor in the distance.
Saturday, July 11th, 2026 – This picture was taken about 500 meters west of Beach Area 6 (the western-most major beach) and even here the beach was packed. Today, the beach was full of people almost its entire length.
