It started to become apparent this week that 2019 will be a  different kind of summer with high water and a shrinking beach.

Sunday, May 19th, 2019 – This picture taken on a beautiful Sunday morning – looking west along the beach from the 18th street entrance.

Thursday, May 23rd, 2019 – the ducks are back! I caught these guys sleeping and was able to sneak up without scaring them. This time of year they are still afraid of people. By September, I’ll need to kick them to get them out of the way. (just joking – I don’t kick ducks 🙂
Thursday, May 23rd, 2019 – This picture shows how insane the water levels are. Usually the shore line would be 30 feet to the left/north. You can see where waves have crashed up eroding areas with grass and trees that were previously safe from waves during periods with north-west winds.
Friday, May 24th, 2019 – Just east of 18th street looking east. No beach to walk on this year.
