This week kicked off with Halloween falling on a Sunday. We had this “Amityville Horror” thing going on at our place for trick-or-treaters so I couldn’t resist posting a picture. The view from Beach 6 this week was reminiscent of Alfred Hitchcock’s “The Birds” – BOO! 🙂 This was also the week of our first snowfall of the year.
I changed our header graphic on the website to reflect the awesome red leaves in our front yard. As of November 7th, our leaves are still stuck with crazy glue to the trees. By this time last year I recall that they were all pretty much down.
Sunday, October 31st, 2021 – Open for business on Halloween night. Perfect for trick or treaters until it started to pour rain at 8:00 PM.
Sunday, October 31st, 2021 – lots of Canada Gees gathered at Beach 6 on Sunday evening before sunset. We’re all drying to get our out of Dodge before sunset when the vampires come out.
Sunday, October 31st, 2021 – walking east from my turnaround point 57th street on my way back to the Recplex – rushing home for trick or treaters. The sign in the distance is the marker I use for the 50th street beach exit.
Monday, November 1st, 2021 – The clouds are interesting this time of year. You can tell with one look that Fall is in the air.
Monday, November 1st, 2021 – Storm clouds gathering to the east as I reach my turnaround point at Beach one during my daily walk during the noon hour.
Monday, November 1st, 2021 – Later in the afternoon, taken near 57th street – a rainbow off to the northeast.
Tuesday, November 2nd, 2021 – Taken entering 57th street looking across the bay towards Collingwood. These clouds chased me east and I just made it back to my truck as the rain started to fall.
Wednesday, November 3rd, 2021 – By early morning on Wednesday the rain had turned to snow. Taken from our deck looking south. The lake effect snow machine has churned into action and we had snow most of the morning. It didn’t last long, but it stuck around on Blue Mountain.
Wednesday, November 3rd, 2021 – During my daily walk you can see snow across the bay in Collingwood.
Wednesday, November 3rd, 2021 – The snow squalls have stopped here, but there is significant new snow on the Blue Mountains across the bay. I watched fresh new snow squalls coming in during my walk.
Wednesday, November 3rd, 2021 – Residents along the waterfront have started to prepare for harsher weather. Most people along the waterfront erect these plywood barriers. Otherwise grass would be destroyed by beach sand driven by high winds.
Thursday, November 4th, 2021 – There is something awesome about this time of year. This picture taken just before sunset last Thursday evening walking east from beach 6.
Thursday, November 4th, 2021 – looking west from just east of a stream / outlet near beach 6 before sunset.
Saturday, November 7th 2021 – We had a mini-family reunion to celebrate my Dad’s 81st birthday. My parents and immediate family pictures here – I love Barb’s term – “the original six” 🙂
