This week started out pretty wet, with heavy rain on Sunday and Monday. The featured picture for this post was taken on Sunday morning while walking down the boardwalk to the East of Beach Area One with my Mom. Weather like this makes it feel like the end of summer.

Sunday, August 23rd, 2026 – Later that day, I walked down a different part of the beach. This picture was taken at the west entrance to Beach Area 5. The trail was a giant puddle after all the rain.

Monday, August 24th, 2026 – For a change of pace, on Monday I walked along the Collingwood waterfront. The Collingwood terminals and harbour are pictured here.

Monday, August 24th, 2026 – This is interesting – apparently Collingwood was the departure point for the first 150 recruits of the North-West Mounted Police, now the RCMP, in 1873. They departed by steamship for Prince Arthur’s Landing (now Thunder Bay) on their journey west.

Tuesday, August 25th, 2026 – The weather was much better by Tuesday, and I walked all the way down to Beach Area 1 and back. This picture was taken at the boardwalk, looking west.

Wednesday, August 26th, 2026 – A beautiful late-summer day with people camped out and enjoying the water at Beach Area 2.

Thursday, August 27th, 2026 – This picture was taken from a private section of Beach Area 5 that I cross almost daily.

Friday, August 28th, 2026 – Exiting Beach Area 5 and making my way to Beach Area 4 on a windy Friday.

Saturday, August 29th, 2026 – Today was the Wasaga Beach Triathlon and Duathlon. We enjoyed watching the swimming portion on Saturday morning. Streets along the beach were closed for the cycling and running portions.

Saturday, August 29th, 2026 – The starting gate for the Wasaga Beach Triathlon and Duathlon.
