The cover picture for this post is a sand sculpture taken during a Sunday walk down Beach Area 5. It’s great to see so many talented people creating sand sculptures.
Sunday, August 9th, 2026 – This picture shows the full length of the snake sculpture. I love the fact that despite thousands of beachgoers every day, people respect these sculptures and leave them alone.

Wednesday, August 12th, 2026 – This picture was taken from the west end of Beach Area 4 with water from a recent rainfall bisecting the beach.
Thursday, August 13th, 2026 – Looking east from near Beach Area 4. This is one of my favorite parts of the beach.
Friday, August 14th, 2026 – Another beautiful day. Today I explored the trails at Beach Area 4.
Saturday, August 15th, 2026 – While not a long weekend, all the beaches were packed today. This is the entrance to Beach area 5. What you can’t see in this picture are long lines of vehicles on Shore Lane and Sunnidale Road.
