We’re coming up on another long weekend. With the COVID-19 pandemic continuing, there is concern again about crowding in the various beach areas.

Ontario seems to be doing well with COVID-19. We have less than 100 cases reported province wide since for the past five days. There have been no reported cases in Wasaga Beach since early June despite all concerns around the Canada Day weekend.

I fear things will get worse again in the Fall (and new IHME projections support this) so I figure we should all monitor things closely and enjoy the outdoors while we’re relatively virus free.

Tuesday, July 28th, 2020 – This picture taken at 13th street around noon. Normally this part of the beach is empty, but people are spreading out.
Tuesday, July 28th, 2020 – This picture taken ~8 km west of the photo above near beach 6. Great to see people enjoying the beach.
Tuesday, July 28th, 2020 – When I walk down to Beach 6, I park at the YMCA RecPlex. There is a nice little bush trail pictured above between Shore Lane and the RecPlex.
Saturday, August 1st, 2020 – Taken at 13th street near noon. Beach two and beach one are further east.  I decided not to walk up to the beach one today on a long weekend again. Last time Mom and I did that we ended up on CTV and were beat up for not socially distancing. 🙂
Saturday, August 1st, 2020 – Great to see people spread out across Wasaga Beach.
Saturday, August 1st, 2020 – This sailboat reminds me of Red Lodge on Lake Manitou. Taken on Georgian Bay just off Wasaga Beach.
