As I pen this blog entry in early December, it occurs to me that this might be the first New Year’s resolution I’ve ever kept!
The genesis of Wasaga365.com was my new year’s resolution on December 31st, 2016 to walk down Wasaga Beach every day for a year in 2017.
I’ve missed a few days, mostly due to travel and customer commitments, but on other days I’ve walked down the beach twice, so I’m declaring success. I’m definitely on a track to walk my daily route more than 365 times.
With that out of the way, here is what the week of November 26th looked like:
Sunda, November 26th, 2017 – Another day with strong winds from the Northwest. Looking towards Collingwood and Blue Mountain from the beach.
Sunday, November 26th, 2017 – This home at the east end of Shore Lane always captures my attention. I’m especially drawn to the flag. It measures how nasty the wind has been. We have another flag in tatters this week. I admire the patriotism of these folks as I suspect they have a substantial flag budget!
Sunday, November 26th, 2017 – Well this is different! A chair suddenly showed up out of nowhere. Not exactly sunbathing weather so I’m curious how this got here.
Monday, November 27th, 2017 – Just posting one picture for this day because it was uneventful. I didn’t see a single person on my walk again. November very different from July!
Tuesday, November, 28th – Today was an awesome day. Almost like summer. There are lots of great properties on the beach. The folks that own this property I walk by every day have a great spot between beaches three and four.
Thursday, November 30th, 2017 – I cut my walk to 40 minutes and turned around at 13th street for fear of getting seriously wet. Ominous skies to the east.
Thursday, November 30th, 2017 – days like this are just AWESOME! Dark cloud looking east and the beach lit by late afternoon sun setting to my back.
Friday, December 1st, 2017 – I don’t pretend to be a photographer, but today was just awesome. I took around twenty pictures and picked this one to represent the day. Wish I had the talent to capture the moment.
Saturday, December 2, 2017 – Another day with too many cool pictures. What struck me during my walk today is this new man-made berm apparently meant to protect beach one from high waves. I expect this will become frozen solid in the coming weeks and prevent the road becoming part of the beach as happened a few weeks back. Smart. I’ll keep tabs and see how it works! I don’t recall the city doing this last year.
