As any Gordon Lightfoot fan knows, November is when the the skies over the great lakes turn gloomy. We had two sunny days this week – overall a great week for enjoying the beach.
Sunday, November 12th – an overcast day looking east toward Beach one.
Monday, November 13th, 2017 – the high waves the other day have left beach drive all covered with mud. Waves were washing across the street. Quite a mess to clean up.
Monday, November 13th, 2017 – Taken from the boardwalk looking across the bay towards Collingwood and Blue Mountain. The picnic table no longer froze into the ground.
Tuesday, November 14th, 2017 – someone else walking out on the beach today. Funny, but this has become a rarity after a packed beach in the summer.
Wednesday, November 15th – sand drifting across the boardwalk near beach one.
Friday, November 17th, 2017 – today was spectacular – You could almost mistake today for a summer day.
Friday, November 17th, 2017 – There is a physics lesson lurking here – the bay is glass calm except for waves that suddenly appear 100 yards from shore.
Friday, November 17th, 2017 – the town of Wasaga Beach cleaning up the mess on Beach Drive from last week’s storms
Friday, November 17th, 2017 – I picked up lots of nasty broken glass today and carried it off the beach. This makes me angry. Young kids frequent the beach in the spring and broken glass can turn a wonderful weekend for someone’s child into a tragedy. I like to think this is accidental rather than deliberate. Saw a severely damaged crayfish/minnow trap above. Who knows where this came from.
Saturday, November 18, 2017 – I thought this picture was worth taking because of the newly erected snow fence. Good call!
Saturday, November 18, 2017 – The town has just cleaned off Beach drive – sand waiting to be picked up or at least plowed away from the road!
