Another winter week walking down Wasaga Beach. This week, my daily walks were interrupted by a short trip to New York City. Hope you enjoy the pictures and story below.

Sunday, March 4th, 2018 – Walking towards beach one. Another beautiful day. The ice has melted close to the shore.
Sunday, March 4th, 2018 – Someone left a sail behind just west of beach one.  Damaged? it was gone the next day so presumably the owner left it for just a short time and retrieved it later.
Monday, March 5th, 2018 – Looking toward the Blue Mountains from the boardwalk west of Beach one.
Tuesday, March 6th, 2018 – This picture was taken around noon from the entrance to the beach near 13th street. Heading down to Pearson later this afternoon for a short business trip to New York. I’ll miss my daily beach walk tomorrow.
Tuesday, March 6th, 2018 – Hanging out near Times Square in New York this evening with my good friend Jeff. What an awesome city! Hoping to get Jessica Jones’ autograph for Jamie.
Wednesday, March 7th, 2018 – Waking up in NY on Wednesday morning before heading off to a meeting @ IBM – We’re not in Wasaga Beach any more toto. A strong Nor’easter coming in today, and I’m wondering whether I’ll make it out of the city this evening.

Turns out the location of my meeting was right at Trump Tower on Madison Ave near Central Park. I couldn’t resist taking thirty minutes over lunch to wander over the Trump Tower and take a few pictures. Lots of security as you can imagine.

Wednesday, March 7th, 2018 – this picture taken from the famous escalator in Trump Tower where Donald Trump was filmed announcing his campaign.
Wednesday, March 7th, 2018 – turns out my meetings @ IBM on Madison Ave. were connected through an Atrium to Trump Tower. I couldn’t help checking out Trump Tower. (I’m not a fan as my Facebook friends know)

I’ll spare you the details, but with the snow storm, travel turned out to be a nightmare on Wednesday. Long story short, I hung out at La Guardia because my flight to Toronto was still looking good. Unfortunately, around 6:00 PM the inbound flight from Toronto after circling La Guardia for 20 minutes was forced to turn around and return to Toronto. Air Canada cancelled all flights after this, and I joined the mad scramble to find a hotel and re-book flights all to familiar to business travelers. Air Canada made exactly the right call btw – looking out from the terminal, it was clearly not safe to land in my opinion.  Lots of people were pissed off, but “kudos” to Air Canada. Traveling in the winter is a pain, but there is something to be said for arriving alive.

Friday, March 9th, 2018 – On Friday we had snow squalls at Wasaga beach. At times, visibility was actually worse than what I experienced in New York on Wednesday. Anyway, I made it down the beach despite the weather.
Saturday, March 10th, 2018 – Boardwalk at beach one looking west. Good to be home and walking my familiar route.
