There are new signs most of the way along Wasaga Beach warning people about the dangers of walking out on the ice berms. The berms are a regular winter feature around here as high waves cause ice to pile up in a series of ridges that run parallel to the shore.
Sunday, February 3rd, 2019 – New warning signs posted at multiple locations along the beach. This is great to see and may save someone’s life. I’ve walked across the top of ice berms a few times thinking they were safe but this makes me think twice. I hope people will stay off the ice. I’ve seen some incredibly dangerous and reckless behaviour in my three years walking down the beach.
