It’s sad to see summer come to a close, but I confess it is also nice to have the beach back to myself. I couldn’t believe how quickly the crowds cleared out on Labour Day Monday after fireworks the night before.
Sunday, September 5th, 2021 – An evening walk down Beach 6. The sunset this evening was majestic. Literally everyone along the beach was focused on the sunset (except the kids playing in the water of course) Sunday, September 5th, 2021 – Sunset this time of year is just before 8:00 PM. I snapped this picture at my usual route walking back from my turnaround point near 57th street. This is well west of Beach 6 so the beach is always kind of deserted here.Monday, September 6th, 2021 – Taken near beach 3 around 10:00 AM walking from 18th street on our way towards the main beach. A Fall-like morning. You can see rain on the horizon, likely falling over Midland or Penetanguishene based on the direction.Monday, September 6th, 2021 – This was a treat! We say three piping plovers far away from their nesting area. The Blue Flag program is internationally recognized for safety and sustainability. I think it is great that Wasaga Beach is participating.
