Lots of excitement this week with the Canada Day long weekend and standup paddleboard races on Saturday July 9th. Here is a link to the SUP event . The Elite category covered an amazing 10-12 kilometers during the race. That’s a lot of paddleboarding!
Sunday, July 3rd – Heading down the the beach on the long weekend
Sunday, July 3rd – The beach was freshly graded. The crowds had not arrive by mid-morning.
Monday July 4th – I always enjoy the US holiday because things are quiet at work. Also nice to have an overcast day for a change.
Tuesday, July 5th – A rare rainy day. It’s been a beautiful summer so far but the grass can use the rain.
Wednesday, July 6th, 2022 – An evening walk. Taking just west of Beach 6 after turning around near 57th street.
Thursday, July 7th, 2022 – You know the beach is busy when there are people at 13th street. There is no parking close to this location so it is rare to see people this far from the provincial parking near Beach 2.
Friday, July 8th, 2022 – A walk during the lunch hour to Beach one and back. I really enjoy seeing so many people enjoying the beach this time of year. It makes it lots of fun to walk around.
Saturday, July 9th, 2022 – Today we had stand-up paddle board races. It was fun to watch. One of the top-ranked paddleboarders in the world was here for the event. Needless to say he won!
Saturday, July 9th, 2022 – Volleyball on the beach with the standup paddleboard race taking place in the background.
Saturday, July 9th, 2022 – I took a second walk down the beach. This picture taken on my way back from 57 street on a trail joining 43rd street to the Recplex.
