Despite the recent warm temperatures, deciding what to wear when walking down the beach can be a challenge. The wind is a bigger factor than the temperature. When the wind is blowing from the north or northwest, the wind can be uncomfortably loud, It is a good idea to wear a jacket with a hood to deaden the sound.
Sunday, October 20th, 2024 – This picture taken looking west in the late afternoon, exiting beach area 5 provincial park heading back to the Recplex.
Monday, October 21st – For some reason this is one of my favorite pictures of the week – looking west along the beach 2 boardwalk on a sunny Fall day.
Tuesday, October 22nd, 2024 – A late morning walk on a sunny Tuesday morning. Looking east in the areas between beach areas 4 and 5.
Wednesday, October 23rd, 2024 – Leaves falling along the trails in Beach area 5. You can tell that the water is to the right because the prevailing northwest winds have most of the cedars close to the water leaning away from the wind.
Thursday, Octobt 24th, 2024 – This gully is an entrance/egress to and from the beach between the far east east end of Shore Lane and the greenspace west of 13th street. If often use the trail as a shortcut to get off the beach when it is too windy to walk comfortable by the water.
Saturday, October 26th, 2024 – I walked down the beach with my Mom on Saturday morning. We managed to get pretty wet as the wind-driven rain was horizontal, but we both enjoyed the outing. Thankfully it was reasonably warm so getting wet was not a big problem.
