This is the week before Donald Trump’s inauguration in the United States, and our neighbors are wondering if he will come through on his 25% tariff threat. Interesting times! Meanwhile, it’s been an excellent January in terms of enjoying the beach. It’s nice to see a real winter for a change after back-to-back warm winters the past few years.

Sunday, January 12th, 2025 – Looking east in the area of Beach area 4 during my daily walk. Walking along the beach when the snow is soft takes for a tiring trek.
Monday, January 13th, 2025 – Seeing the sun after a week of overcast skies is nice. There is plenty of shore ice, but as you can see in the distance, there is blue water, and Georgian Bay is still open.
Tuesday, January 14th, 2025 – Walking west along the snowmobile trails in the Beach 5 area.
Thursday, January 16th, 2025 – We had additional fresh snow and snow squalls overnight. This picture taken walking east between Beach areas 5 and 4.
Friday, January 17th, 2025 – I took an evening walk on Friday. This picture was taken along the snowmobile trails at a public beach access near 37th Street.
Saturday, January 18th, 2025 – For a change of pace, I parked near 3rd Street and walked down the main beach. This picture was taken walking towards the beach from the municipal parking lot at 3rd Street.
Saturday, January 18th, 2025—This picture was taken looking west from the far east end of Wasaga Beach. The boardwalk ends with Beach Drive and the main beach in the distance. The weather was miserable, with sleet driven by north winds coming off the water. The temperature is expected to plummet for the next few days.
