I’m tempted to say that we returned to more seasonal temperatures late this week, but sadly warm February’s may be the new normal. This is the first year since we moved to Wasaga Beach in 2015 that I haven’t been able to walk out on the ice in the winter.
Tuesday, February 13th, 2024 – Strong northwest winds are blowing snow off the beach. The frozen sand is great for walking and cyclists.
Tuesday, February 13th 2024, Looking east along the beach on my way to Beach one.
Wednesday, February 14th, 2024 – We had a dusting of snow on Valentine’s day. Collingwood is obscured by clouds and fog looking west across the bay.
Thursday, February 15th, 2024 – This picture was taken looking back to where I entered the beach near 14th street. You can see a snow squall a few kilometers down the beach to the west.
Friday, February 16th, 2024 – One of my favorite parts of Wasaga Beach is the Provincial Park at Beach area 5. This picture was taken looking towards the Blue Mountains from near the play structures at the centre of the park.
Friday, February 16th, 2024 – The snowfall was kicking into high gear late on Friday. This pictures shows the memorial bench at the entrance to the beach at 57th street.
Saturday, Feb 17th, 2024 – The view from our backyard. We had a good six inches of fresh snow overnight. This is probably only the fifth time I’ve used the snow blower this winter.
Saturday, February 17th, 2024 – It was tough walking down the trail between the Recplex and ShoreLane through fresh snow, but I made it! Thankfully, A hardy couple ahead of me broke the trail pulling their two kids on a tobbogan. 🙂
