August is the best month to enjoy the beach. The days are getting shorter, but the water is warm and there is something magical about the quality of the sunsets.

The far east-end of the beach peninsula is off limits. I’ve kayaked around the peninsula several times between the Nottawasaga river and Georgian Bay. I only venture out when the weather is good. This is off limits for swimmers because the mouth of the river is dangerous. The recent drownings I’m aware of have all occurred here.
